The system will work out your playing handicap for all of the tees that you are eligible to play from. You can view this in the Wales Golf Clubhouse portal.
If you would like to work this out manually for a different course or are just interested in how the calculation works you can use the flow chart below. This method can be used on other courses where their ratings and conversion tables will be different. There is also a video in the other useful resources section.
Handicap Index The measure of a player's demonstrated ability calculated against the Slope Rating of a golf course of standard playing difficulty (that is, a course with a Slope Rating of 113)
Course Handicap The number of handicap strokes a player receives, before handicap allowances, from a specific set of tees as determined by the Slope Rating
Playing Handicap The Course Handicap is adjusted for any handicap allowances or Terms of the Competition. It represents the actual number of strokes the player gives or receives for the round being played
Handicap Allowance The percentage of a Course Handicap recommended to create equity for all players participating in a specific format of play
Acceptable Score A score from an authorized format of play that meets all the provisions set out within the Rules of Handicapping
Below are the course and slope ratings for each of our sets of tees.
Please be aware that the winter course tees are to the bottom right of this section and to the far right on the slope board located by the first tee.
Course Rating: An indication of the difficulty of a golf course for the scratch player under normal course and weather conditions
Slope Rating: An indication of the relative difficulty of a golf course for players who are not scratch players compared to players who are scratch players
