Meet The Team


Simon Swales

Head PGA Professional

Simon first joined the PGA in 1994 and has been the Head Professional at Radyr Golf Club for the past 11 years. During this time Simon has established a first class retail operation catering for all levels of golfer. He has a passion for coaching, working with many elite golfers and is a current Glamorgan County coach. Simon prides himself as being at the centre of the Radyr membership and all will receive the warmest of welcomes by him and his staff whilst visiting the pro shop.

Simon is a regular participant in PGA tournaments and is very proud to be nomintaed as the South Wales and West Region PGA Captain elect for the 2016/17 season.


Christian Askins

Qualified PGA Professional
BA Hons. Golf Management
UK Sport Inclusive Coach

Christian joined the team at Radyr in April 2011, following 4 years at Machynys Golf Club, Llanelli. Turning professional professional in 2009, he has also completed a BA Hons. degree in Golf management from the University of Birmingham run in conjuction with the PGA.

With his enthusiastic and passionate approach to coaching, Christian has build a large client base comprising of all types of golfer. Experienced in video analysis and Trackman, he enjoys helping players understand their own games and how best they improve. As Radyr's head custom fitting specialist, Christian also uses Trackman technology to help people find clubs to suit their game in a very simple and easy to understand way.

Christian is also very proud to have been the first UK Sport Inclusive golf coach in Cardiff. 


Aneurin Brown

ASsistant PGA PROFESSIONAL

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Aneurin Brown as our new Assistant Professional. Aneurin, Nye for short, joins us from Thornbury golf centre. During his time at Thornbury as well as Cardiff golf centre he has built a solid knowledge of custom fitting across all of the major brands that we stock.

Nye also has a passion for coaching and will be taking over the junior academy from this winter. He will also be going into schools within the local area over the spring and summer to build the junior academy to new levels.

He starts on Saturday 5th November to what surely will be a warm Radyr welcome!
